Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Investigations

Breathing air contaminated by moulds, chemicals and other pollutants can lead to or aggravate asthma, allergies, sinus problems, eye, nose and throat irritations, dizziness, nausea, sensitivity to odours, headaches, and many other chronic conditions. Since we spend most of our time indoors and most of our indoor time at home, the air quality in our homes is vital to our health and well being.

RMC INSIGHT's goal is to provide practical information for improvements to, and maintenance of the environmental health in your home.

We follow the established Residential Indoor Air Quality Investigator Program Protocol developed by CMHC (Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation).

1. We start with a client consultation to document your concerns and to establish the parameters of our investigation.

2. We follow with a site visit and inspection of the property to identify existing or potential IAQ problems:

Biological (looking for environments
which may support bacterial or
fungal growth)

Chemical contaminants (looking for
evidence of chemical off-gassing)
Ventilation (adequate air exchange,
source of external contaminants, air
leakage)

Mechanical systems (heating
system, hot water heaters,

electrical, plumbing).

3. Our report is narrative in format, supported by photographs, and our recommendations are prioritized in order
of importance.
